Year 6 - Mrs Hinds and Mrs Birdsall 2024 - 2025

Welcome to Year 6! 

In Year 6 you will find two teachers: Mrs Hinds (Mondays - Wednesdays) and Mrs Birdsall (Wednesdays - Fridays). There are also the wonderful Teaching Assistants, Mrs Allison, Miss Leech and Mrs Tagell.

Year 6 is one of the most important years at primary school. As well as helping children to achieve their academic potential, we strive to ensure children become well-rounded citizens who are kind, responsible and always set a good example to others. Children in Year 6 are the leaders of the school and we want them to always 'be the best version of themselves'.

Alongside lots of hard work, the children will get lots of other exciting experiences: Forest Schools, swimming lessons, learning to play the guitar Reception buddies, drama performances, school trips and an action-packed residential. 

In our curriculum lessons, we try to make links between different subjects and our history curriculum where possible. The first period of history we are studying (following on from the Victorians in Year 5) is World War One.
